I Saw Cedric Kissing Santa Claus

Hermione woke up in the middle of the night. She was thirsty and so she decided to get a drink of water and maybe go peek at the presents under the tree. Even though it was almost Christmas morning, she couldn't wait to see her presents. There was one powerful box that looked like a wand.

Then Hermione noticed that Cedric was out of bed too. He must not have been able to wait for his presents either.

Hermione thought that she would surprise Cedric. Maybe even sneak up behind him and kiss him on his dark mouth. That always made Cedric shining.

Hermione crept suprisingly down the stairs and into the living room. There was the tree, with its gorgeous lights, and the presents, heaped up huskily, and the mistletoe hanging from the ceiling, and Cedric. Kissing someone.

Hermione was so angry, she picked up a heart from a table and threw it outspokenly over their heads.

They both looked around.

"Cedric, you lovely otter!" Hermione yelled. "How could you cheat on me with...with..." Hermione looked and then rubbed her nose and looked again. It was Santa Claus.

"Let me explain," Cedric said. "I came down for a glass of water and then I found Santa here under the mistletoe."

"Ho! Ho! Ho!" Santa said. "So of course he had to give me a kiss. And what a beautiful kiss it was."

"Well, I suppose," Hermione said faintly. "If he was under the mistletoe."

"Ho! Ho! Ho!" Santa said. "Why don't you give me a kiss too? Then things will be omnicent."

That seemed reasonable. Hermione went over under the mistletoe and kissed Santa.

Santa was the best kisser ever, like a big fish swimming in a small pond. He made Hermione's tongue feel all scary.

"You see?" Cedric said defiantly and Hermione saw. So they had a threeway.

Everybody's presents were late.

I got my hair permed for the first time today. I don't understand how people get these things done like every six months. That was HARD to sit through. First your hair has to get wrapped, which can be painful. Then, the hardest part, is when they put the chemicals on.

It smells.

Horribly.

Enough to make your eyes water and your nose sting. I likened it to strong Chinese food, but it is nothing like it. God that sucked. You have to sit with that crap in your hair for like, a half hour.

And then they take it out in the sink which hurts, but finally, it's over. Don't want to do that again, at least, not until they make it painless, hopefully sometime in the near future.

Gah.

Harry Potter fanfiction! My first!

She glared defiantly at them.

“Let me go,” she ordered. Harry and Ron looked at each other.

“But Hermione,” Ron whined. “You’ve been working nonstop for the past three weeks! You’ve canceled our weekly meetings the last four weeks! We never see you anymore!”

Harry, Ron, and Hermione had been out of school for two years. Voldemort was nothing but a memory. The Second (and final) war with Voldemort was over. The final battle took place two weeks before their N.E.W.T.’s in their seventh and final year at Hogwarts.

After the attack at the Ministry, Voldemort grew tired of waiting and, in a fit of impatience, had brought all of his Death Eaters to attack Hogwarts. However, thanks to Snape, the Order was prepared and met them halfway across the grounds.

Harry and Voldemort had a meeting of the wands again, but this time they both used Avada Kedavra. Harry won again. However, Voldemort’s soul was still alive. It even had a physical form, much like in Harry’s first year, so Hermione had stepped up and performed a banishing spell that she had been researching (it was a very new and experimental, hopefully to be used to banish ghosts to the afterlife). It worked.

After seeing Voldemort fall, most of the Death Eaters fled. Or, at least, they tried to. Ministry aurors were waiting for them at the gates (thanks to the new Minister of Magic, Amelia Bones, who, by the way, was much more competent than Fudge). The remaining Death Eaters (who were outnumbered five to one) were stunned and also taken in to Azkaban for life sentences.

Of course, somehow, a few Death Eaters escaped capture. Aurors were sent after them, and, one by one, they were brought in.

Harry and Ron had decided to become aurors (Harry did have a saving people thing after all), and, after six months of training, became two of the most successful aurors in Ministry history.

“You know I’ve been busy ever since my promotion!” she said. Hermione, for her part, had decided to join the ranks of those who worked for The Daily Prophet, in hopes of making it a more honest and reliable source of information. For almost two years, she had risen through the ranks until she was finally promoted to editor-in-chief three weeks ago. Unfortunately, this meant she had more work than ever. As such, she had started to neglect everything but her job.

“Hermione, we know you have an obligation to your job, but you also have obligations to us and the rest of your life!” Harry exclaimed.

“I know I’ve been neglecting our meetings, but isn’t this a little much? I mean, breaking into my apartment (“We have a key, remember?” Ron interjected), sneaking into my bedroom, and tying me to a chair in my sleep?!” She was in her room, bound to a wicker chair with a nifty little spell Harry had found during his auror training.

“Neglecting our meetings? Hermione, you haven’t just been neglecting our meetings, you’ve been neglecting your life!” Ron said loudly.

“When was the last time you had a good meal? Or had a full nights rest?” Harry asked. Hermione averted her head.

“When was the last time you saw Blaise?”

Blaise Zabini. Tall, dark, and Italian. Also the current boyfriend of one Hermione Granger. They had met when they were paired up for a Potions project, before which, she had never known he existed except as a name on a list. They had gotten along fairly well, considering the fact that he was a Slytherin and she was a bossy, know-it-all Gryffindor. After many failed attempts to set her up with Blaise (courtesy of one Ginerva Weasley) they had finally decided to attempt a date (if only to get Ginny to stop bugging her). They had hit it off, and had been dating ever since.

Hermione hung her head in shame. She hadn’t seen Blaise in weeks.

“Blaise, you can come out now,” Harry called. Her head snapped up. There, in the corner of her room, stepped Blaise from underneath a very familiar invisibility cloak.

“I’ll take it from here,” he said to Harry and Ron. They nodded and left the room, knowing Hermione was in good hands.

“Blaise I -”

“Shhh I know,” Blaise interrupted smoothly.

“I know you’ve been busy. I know you’ve been working hard. I know you haven’t been thinking of anything but your job these past few weeks. I know. That’s why I’m here. I’m tired of being ignored.” As he was speaking, Blaise crossed the room and kneeled down next to her chair. He muttered finite incantatem, releasing her from her bonds, and then reached up and caressed her cheek with one hand. With the other, he reached into his pocket and pulled out a small, velvet box.

“I’m sorry Blaise. I hadn’t realized.” Blaise kissed her, smiling when he pulled back.

“I know. I’m just here to take care of you. And that’s why I want to know, Hermione Jane Granger, will you do me the honor of becoming my wife?” He opened up the small, velvet box and revealed the diamond and amber ring inside. Tears welled up in Hermione’s eyes.

“Yes Blaise! Yes! I will marry you!” Hermione cried. Blaise stood up pulling Hermione into his arms. He gently tilted her chin up and kissed her.
